Frequently asked questions
- What does Avion Consulting do?
- Avion Consulting is a leadership and organizational development firm. We partner with senior leaders and their organizations across three practices: Shape (talent and L&D strategy and design), Develop (assessment, executive coaching, and facilitation), and Build (building internal capability so the work sustains without us).
- How is Avion different from a typical leadership development firm?
- Three ways. Senior practitioners do the work — the people who scope your engagement are the people in the room. Solutions are designed for your context rather than licensed off a shelf. And the frameworks are research-based and published, including The Five Coaching Conversations and How Leaders Improve.
- Who does Avion work with?
- Senior leaders, HR and talent leaders, and intact leadership teams — in health systems, entertainment, financial services, professional services, and consumer organizations. Engagements range from a single executive to enterprise-wide capability programs.
- What kinds of engagements does Avion take on?
- Executive coaching, LEA 360° assessment and debriefs, leadership development planning, peak team performance, culture building, change management, learning-journey design, talent and HR advisory, and internal capability programs such as the Five Coaching Conversations.
- Does Avion offer executive coaching for individual leaders?
- Yes. We coach senior leaders and high-potential leaders one-on-one, typically paired with assessment so the work starts from evidence rather than impression. Coaching focuses on measurable behavior change that holds after the engagement ends.
- What is the Five Coaching Conversations?
- A research-based coaching model developed by Avion's founders and published as a bestselling book. Rather than treating coaching as one skill, it identifies five distinct conversations and when each one fits — and we teach it as an internal capability so managers coach well without us in the room.
- Where does Avion Consulting work?
- Avion works worldwide. We have no single home base — our consultants are distributed, and we deliver engagements both virtually and in person, depending on client preference and location.
